On Friday 9th March we held a Ceremonial Tree Planting at St. George's Park and Baxter Gardens. We were pleased to welcome the Mayor who along with young people from St. Marys and St. Ambrose School helped plant an Indian Bean Tree in St. George's Park and a Hornbeam in Baxter Gardens.
Both trees are to mark the Queen's Jubilee and in the case of the Indian Bean Tree it was to replace 2 trees that were originally planted in St. George's Park to mark the Coronation of George VI in 1937.
Thanks to everyone who came down to support us and to Wyre Forest District Council for providing the trees and for preparing the planting areas.
