We are preparing for our third year as partner of WFDC's annual Kidderminster Arts Festival (KAF) and host to KidFest the park based KAF event that focuses upon children and families. Like the other community events the Friends group organise KidFest is a FREE festival of arts, crafts and theatre for children where they can experience some magical things in St George's Park including first rate performers from across the country. In previous years we have had children's theatre groups from London and the East Midlands - this year we are very pleased to announce we have Yorkshire based Plunge Boom Theatre Company who "specialise in imaginative and interactive street theatre for Family audiences."
They are performing two shows in the park which we specially chose for their relevance to Let's Eat the Park so the entertainment has an edible quality to match the park. This year's KAF is on the theme of Transformation - in our park that has meant transforming it into a place where free food is growing to be shared with the whole community. On 15 August the park is being transformed again into a place of magic, entertainment and discovery.
The shows are called The Vegetable Nannies and The Allotment.
Here is a little 'taster' of the Vegetable Nannies in action!
