KAF14
Friend's of St George's Park have had a busy few months firstly with organising the family fun day back in April and also planning ahead for KidFest14 coming to the park in August in collaboration with Wyre Forest District Council and as part of Kidderminster Arts Festival. Look out for news on attractions booked by FoSGP for this event
Interpretation Board
Meanwhile we are in the final stages of having an interpretation board created for the park which we are looking forward to having in place in the near future.
LEAP
As visitors to the latest events will also know June sees the launch of Let's Eat the Park (LEAP) when St George's Park will spread beyond its railings into Horsefair as part of the emerging Kidderminster local food network. More on that soon!
Work Groups
FoSGP work groups regularly meet to plant, weed and generally look after the park. Over the past few weeks work groups have planted more edibles in the park including thyme and chives with much more to come soon. We have also planted wildflower borders to compliment the existing fringe of flowers around the park bringing colour and the joys of Spring to the Horsefair. All the park borders have been planted by the Friends group and we are looking forward to the current display becoming an even more impressive one in the near future.
Bins
Wyre Forest District Council in collaboration with Friends of St George's Park have carried out some recent works, moving picnic tables and providing the new bins we've been waiting for. We are very pleased that these improvements to the park have now taken place and we thank our partner WFDC Parks Department for delivering these requested upgrades to park facilities. By popular request there is now a bin on the top field by the kissing gate. We respectfully ask all park users to use the bins and help us to keep the park looking beautiful.
