We are holding our 3rd annual community fun day on Saturday 21st April 2012. It will run 11am - 3pm and will feature the usual attractions that have proved to be popular such as BBQ, free Bouncy Castles (2 this year!) and free face painting. Last year we added the charity table top sale which proved to be very successful so we have expanded this and this year will have even more tables.
This year will be our biggest and best event yet with a performance area for local musicians and poets - if you are interested in taking part please visit let us know. So far confirmed we have the Severnside Strummers Ukulele Association - more to be added soon.
We also have ‘Svartland’ who are a Viking and Saxon historical interpretation group who re-create the lifestyles of the Viking and Anglo-Saxon peoples of the 8th - 11th Century. You can look around their tents, talk to them and watch one of their demonstrations of Viking Age combat.
The event will also feature various organisations who are working in the area. You will have the chance to find out about the BIGHBG which is the £1 Million Big Local Trust funding that is coming into the area - you will be able to tell them how you would spend the money! There will also be UnLtd which is a charity that supports social entrepreneurs - people with vision, drive, commitment and passion who want to change the world for the better. UnlLtd want to support individuals in Horsefair, Broadwaters and Greenhill by providing both financial and non-financial support so that they can develop solutions to need in the community. So if you have a great idea about how to make your community a better place come and chat to UnLtd about making it a reality!
This event really does have something for everyone so we hope to see you there
