Daffodil Day - Saturday 27th November 2010
On a cold, snowy and frosty morning 35 volunteers turned up to help Spike plant over 3000 daffodil bulbs in 12 plots along the Radford Avenue embankment of the park.
Various 'designs' were planted so it will be an interesting 2011 April when they start to come up.
Volunteers were treated to hot chocolate, mince pies and chocolates as they planted their plots. A detailed map will be produced and published that will show which groups planted plots. This will be displayed in the park once the Daffodils come up.
Once the Daffodils are in bloom (probably sometime April 2011?) we will judge the best looking plot (there will be prizes!)
A big thanks to Grassroots who funded the project.
