One of our stewards on the gate said to two women with pushchairs and toddlers leaving the park "Thanks for coming, hope you enjoyed it to which one of the women replied "we're only going home to get our coats, we're coming back." That I think is the mark of a successful event and have chosen it as the quote of the day, although there was a lot of positive feedback, no unfortunate incidents, one lost child quickly returned to mom by our stewards looking for her, all-in-all a St George's Day to remember. Here is a slideshow of scenes from this the 7th St George's Day Family Fun and Discovery Festival in the park.
Then there were the bands - starting with the excellent Unknown First and finishing off with local cool band the Karpet Kickers* brilliant hour of original music closely connected with the park through singer Gehardt Kruckow's involvement as a FoSGP volunteer and our wildlife officer. After initial sound problems the KK video improves and gives a feel of how our free Georgestock Festival went (many thanks to the bands for their generous contributions). The Unknown First sound is a bit better (out of the wind). A great day was had by all - many thanks to all who took part.
We have some other exciting news on LEAP coming soon watch this space!
