The Wildflower seeds used to plant the area will be a mix of grasses and wildflowers that have been harvested from a number of donor sites across Worcestershire & Shropshire.
The meadows from which the seed is harvested include sites of special scientific interest. The mix will include some of our most beautiful and delicate native grasses, including Sweet vernal grass and Crested dog's-tail. Among the wildflowers you will find in it are Meadow Buttercup, Ox-eye Daisy, Knapweed, Red Clover, Agrimony, and Yellow Rattle. The company supplying the seed donate half of the profit on sales of this seed mix to ’Habitat Aid’.
The Meadow area will be a great feature in the park, once established it will look stunning and it will provide a much needed native habitat for insects, butterflies and birds. Special thanks to Wyre Forest District Council who have organised the ground preparation and the sowing.
