Scottish Power Offering energy advice and information about their website and app. Existing customers can drop in and have any queries answered. Severn Trent Severn Trent officer will be on hand to chat to customers about how they can save water and save money, checking that they’re on the best tariff for their circumstances and making sure they’re benefiting from any free services that could make a difference. Bewdley Design Bewdley Design is a company focused on delivering high quality sustainable new build homes and refurbishments. Working directly with a carefully selected team of local subcontractors and suppliers offering both design and build services. Act on Energy Act on Energy will have models to illustrate insulation and lighting and information on a range of energy saving/affordable warmth issues. Staff will also be able to help people with energy price comparisons, so bring along your energy bills Wyre Forest Fuels Wyre Forest Fuels supply and install log burning and multi fuel stoves, along with all forms of renewable heat technologies. For example wood pellet (biomass), heat pumps and solar. Ecomotive Ecomotive is a workers’ co-operative which grew out of the Ashley Vale self build project in Bristol. After they had completed their own self build home, Jackson Moulding and Anna Hope wanted to be able to offer other people the same opportunity to design and build their own homes in a community setting. They will be offering on-the-spot advice on setting up self build and group housing projects, and information on services including tours, workshops, technical advice, 1:1 mentoring and project management. Additionally there will be information on their SNUG homes: compact custom-build eco homes which we hope to launch on the market next year. The Glades - PfP Leisure The team from the Glades Leisure Centre will be bringing along the Smoothie bike. They will also provide free guest passes for anyone that wishes to try out any of the facilities. Interested in Living a Greener lifestyle in 2016? Make a New Year’s resolution to start a new and greener lifestyle in 2016. Wyre Forest District Council is staging the Greener Living Show at Kidderminster Town Hall on Saturday 30 January 2016, 10-2.30pm to help get you started. There will be heaps of advice on hand from renewable technology to building your own eco and sustainable home, small scale gardening to conservation and wildlife - even handy hints on how you can creatively upcycle your old furniture. There will also be free and fun activities for children who will be able try their hand at a range of arts and crafts using recycled materials, take part in a nature quiz organised by council rangers or even learn how to make their own bird box which they can put to good use using a free RSPB Garden Birdwatch pack. Friends of St George’s Park Friends of St George's Park will be talking about their latest initiative Let’s Eat the Park (LEAP) Faded to fabulous A small independent, family run business that loves all things crafty and up-cycled! Situated on Comberton Hill, Kidderminster they offer a range of lovely gifts, from Village candles and handmade jewellery, to scarves and more. Beacon Employment charity stall selling recycled items/project work Bishops Wood Environment Centre will bring be promoting their school programmes, environmental training and leisure courses. RSPB Visitors can take part in making their own bird feeder to take home. The team will be on hand throughout the day to chat about what people can do to help give nature a home in their garden, including spending one hour at home taking part in the Big Garden Birdwatch on 30 or 31 January 2016. Wyre Forest Rangers Take part in this interactive quiz organised by the Wyre Forest Rangers. Waste 2 Want Running children’s activities throughout the day and educating about recycling, waste and up cycling The Balanced Oak Find out how the Balanced Oak is looking to enhance 8 acres of land within The Wyre Forest District of Worcestershire and build a small cosy eco hamlet of 11 affordable homes, five large beautiful landscaped gardens, orchards, allotment and premises for small local micro businesses to rent and a cafe to serve home grown produce. Hartlebury Volunteer Group Are you interested in joining a local group that aims to discover and preserve the natural history of Hartlebury Common, one of the few remaining heathlands in Worcestershire? If so, make sure you visit this volunteer group at the show! Health Walks Co-ordinator for Worcestershire Promote health walks and find out about the several walking trails across Worcestershire Hope to see you there! Let's Eat the Park! Work Party Help the Friends of the park to continue to shape and develop local green spaces in the Horsefair area of Kidderminster. Help plan the next phase of Let's Eat the Park, get some outdoor activity, work with good company and enjoy the refreshments at our weekly picnics in the park. As always work parties meet at the shelter at -10am and do a variety of tasks, community gardening, litter clear-ups and whatever needs to be done on the day. Some work takes place at Baxter Gardens Park in collaboration with the Friends group there and some work is in St George's churchyard where we maintain several LEAP bays. Come along get involved, go at your own pace and enjoy the benefits of being outdoors in the park, a green oasis on Kidderminster Ring Road, part of a wildlife corridor running close to the town centre.

Due to Treacherous Conditions Underfoot We Have Decided to Postpone the Work Party Until 11am Today on Safety Grounds! Please join us if you can for a LEAP work party in St George's Park TOMORROW the first of 2016 at 10am by the shelter - Look out for Hi Viz vests of the LEAP team Refreshment available - gloves and tools too come along and spend an hour or two outdoors making the park more beautiful and more edible. New Volunteers Always Welcome! The Let's Eat the Park (LEAP) project is looking forward to 2016 -a leap year- to complete the first phase of providing free food in St George's Park, Baxter Gardens Park, St George's churchyard and with plans for a LEAP site at the Youth House, the base of Kidderminster and District Youth Trust adjacent to the park. We have other plans too for the start of the year, beginning with having a stall again this year at the Green Homes Show at Kidderminster town hall (please see the What's On page above - for more details).
We will also be marking the LEAP year at the end of February - more details on that will be posted soon. People may have noticed our new raised bed along side the existing ones between the play area and the ring road. We are hoping to add another raised bed early this year, so watch out for more news on that. We hope that more people will take an interest in the activities of FoSGP and the LEAP team and join us to plan the year ahead.
