Another FoSGP FREE event and an example of community engagement money can't buy!
A FREE family oriented arts/crafts/discovery event in the park - KidFest - is organised by the Friends of St George's Park in collaboration with Wyre Forest District Council -Kidderminster Arts Festival. KidFest is managed and was stewarded solely by volunteers from Friends of St George's Park who also raise funds for this and other free community initiatives they are involved in. This year's KidFest included as it's main attraction interactive theatre by the wonderful Plunge Boom and other installations accompanying the craft activities that are now a defining feature of the event. The very popular Vegetable Nannies reflects the ongoing Let's Eat the Park project (LEAP) making St George's Park and the neighbourhood more edible. Here are a few images from a great community get together in St George's Park - the 'People's Park - Since 1927' This short video captures the spirit of a day when the community comes together to celebrate its diversity and creativity in an arts & crafts festival organised by, for and within the local community itself.
