Firstly over 50 young people came down to the park on a very very cold afternoon to help plant 2,000 Daffodil bulbs along the Silver Street/Ringroad edge of the park. Everyone was in high spirits and a lot of fun was had in the process! To the untrained eye it could have looked like chaos but the teachers ensured everyone kept themselves and others safe and everyone was assigned to a task of either digging the hole, planting the bulbs or stomping the turf back down.
When these start to come up in spring this year they will provide a great view along the edge of the park.
A smaller group then came down to help plant a native Hawthorn hedge along the back of the paddling pool area which will provide much needed habitat for the local wildlife.
As a group we are really please that the local school want to be involved in the life of the park and we look forward to the same young people using the park as they get older. So a special thanks to all of the young people who came down and the Wyre Forest District Council staff and group members who helped out.
